9 Star Learning Center

This facility in Roatan, Honduras sits on 8 beautiful hilltop acres with a view of the Caribbean Ocean. The structures on the property consist of four buildings: 9 Star Learning Center, Shining Star Pediatric Clinic, Daystar Schoolhouse, and a future computer lab.

The purpose of acquiring and developing this property is to serve the struggling hillside community of Isla Bonita that are in need of educational and health support.

The main objective of the education program for this community is to help develop the capacities and talents in individuals that can then contribute to the process of Community building through service.

Currently the education program is benefiting 110 participants through the following programs :English language courses for children, junior youth, youth, and young mothers.                            Virtue, English and skill development classes for children from ages 3 to 11 years old.                                  Empowerment  programs for Junior youth of ages 12 to 15 years.                                                      Empowerment programs for youth of ages 15 years and above.                                                          Empowerment programs for young mothers, while volunteers take care of their young children.

Future goals at the Center:                                                                                                             Computer classes (we need computers). Arts and craft classes. Educational courses directed to advance occupational opportunities. Ongoing monthly seminars ranging from health care subjects to business incentive talks.
